Bracknell Hockey  Club

Brief History of Bracknell Hockey Club

The presently constituted club was formed in 1982 through the almalgamation of Bracknell Mens, Royal Ascot Ladies, Bracknell Gyros and Ringwood mixed Hockey Clubs.

Bracknell Mens were formerly Ranelagh Old Boys, formed in 1929. Royal Ascot ladies were formed in the late 1950's.

Bracknell Mens originally shared the Bracknell Cricket Club in Larges Lane in the days when hockey was played on grass .

Location of the B.H.C. clubhouse occupies the first floor of the pavilion at Birch Hill Recreation Ground, Ringway, Bracknell.

It has been held on long lease from Bracknell Town Council since 1986.

There is a 'home' pitch at the facility maintained by B.T.C. That pitch, as well as those at Easthampstead Park School and ,occasionally, Bracknell

Sports Centre, is hired as required to fulfil League and Training obligations.
